Joshua Martin is a shareholder and the head of Johnson & Martin, P.A.’s litigation department and was selected by Super Lawyers® from 2015 through 2020 as a Rising Star among attorneys under the age of forty. He handles a wide variety of complex intellectual property and other commercial litigation matters in both federal and state courts, including patent infringement, trademark infringement and copyright infringement lawsuits. Mr. Martin has also appeared on behalf of clients in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has represented various clients in intellectual property disputes concerning software programs, electronic devices, aeronautical toys, pharmaceutical products, nutriceutical products and supplements, fuel additive products, first aid and healing devices, visual and audiovisual artworks, animal rescue services, and hotel services. Mr. Martin is dedicated to prosecuting, defending, and protecting his clients’ intellectual property rights and has secured successful rulings and extensive settlements for his clients in all types of litigation and proceedings.
Mr. Martin also has significant experience representing clients in several other types of commercial litigation including contract disputes, partnership and other business disputes, non-compete agreements, real estate litigation and general corporate litigation. Mr. Martin’s practice also includes representation of clients in the prosecution and defense of various tort claims, including defamation, tortious interference with contractual and business relationships, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
Due to the nature of Mr. Martin’s practice, his representation is not limited to lawsuits or clients in the State of Florida or the State of North Carolina. The law governing intellectual property matters often requires that many cases be litigated in federal courts, which has allowed Mr. Martin to represent clients in various jurisdictions in different states throughout the country.
Mr. Martin is a member of the Florida Bar and North Carolina State Bar and is admitted to practice in various federal courts. He graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. While pursuing his law degree, he was a member of the Stetson Law Review. Mr. Martin also attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida for his undergraduate studies and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Mr. Martin was born in Pittsburgh, P.A.
