Joshua Cooper is an associate attorney at Johnson & Martin, P.A. who focuses his practice on trademark and copyright prosecution. Additionally, Mr. Cooper handles matters relating to licensing, corporate law, domain name disputes, trademark proceedings in front of the USPTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and trademark and copyright infringement litigation.
Mr. Cooper is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and Federal Bar Association. At the University of Miami School of Law, he was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society, Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and the American Inn of Courts.
During law school, Mr. Cooper focused his studies on intellectual property law, entertainment law and corporate law. He enjoyed and excelled in those areas of law and retained a strong desire to pursue a legal career in the field of intellectual property. Mr. Cooper researched and wrote various articles discussing issues pertaining to right of publicity, false advertising, international broadcasting and media law, and sports law. Mr. Cooper continues to build on these foundational skills as an associate attorney at Johnson & Martin, P.A., gaining significant experience in trademark prosecution, copyright prosecution, domain name disputes, drafting and negotiating license agreements, business tort and unfair competition disputes, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark and copyright infringement, and other intellectual property and corporate law issues.
Mr. Cooper is licensed to practice law in Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University at Buffalo in 2011, and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2015. Mr. Cooper is originally from New York.
